The American novelist Kurt Vonnegut has died (April 11th) aged 84.
A prolific novelist, satirist, humorist and commentator on science and technology, the environment, society and politics, he will perhaps be best remembered for Slaughterhouse-Five, a novel partially set during the fire-bombing of Dresden though with numerous science fiction additions and adornments.
